It annoys but amuses me that at this time about four years ago, the English (I think the Telegraph in particular) were busy poo-pooing one day cricket having just been thrashed by the South Africans in another one-day game. "We all know that Test cricket is the first prize - and we won that series" was the theme of the article.
Having lost the Test series to South Africa this time round, The English have forgotten all about Test cricket while one-day cricket is suddenly the real deal as they proclaim themselves world beaters and the one day game all-important.
Is it that the only important form of the game is the one that
England has most recenly won?
